What is a RIB?

RIBs, sometimes known as rigid inflatable boats, rigid hull inflatable boats, or RHIBs, are powerboats fitted with inflatable collars or tubes. As well as excellent fendering, this makes RIBs almost unsinkable and suitable for use in all sorts of conditions. RIBs are some of the most versatile boats available and are used as rescue boats by the Coast Guard, as patrol boats by the military, as work boats on ferries and ocean going ships, as race boats in international competitions, as tenders to yachts and superyachts, and as general purpose all round cruising boats by families around the world.  RIBs are safer and more sea-worthy water crafts than hard bottom boats.  They are more stable and can take waves and swells much better.  RIBs are more popular in Europe due to the generally rougher conditions.

What is hypalon?

Hypalon is the premium material for the tubes (as opposed to PVC or vinyl which is prone to be destroyed by the sun and UV rays in time)

Novurania

Novurania is like the Mercedes of RIBs.  It is a preferred brand used as tenders for large yachts.

Condition of this boat

On a scale from poor to excellent, I would rate this boat as "good".  The tubes (the most important part) have been gone through by Ballard Inflatables and new patches were put on where needed ($1,200 of work).  The fiberglass is in good shape - some scratches and nicks but all cosmetics flaws and the low price takes all those imperfections into account.

The motor runs well and strong, it is the last of the 2-stroke motors due to newer and tougher U.S. emission standards.  If you buy a newer boat with a 4-stroke motor it will be substantially heavier for the same HP it puts out.  This is a handsome boat that turns head at marinas despite of its size (when people sees Novurania they assume it is a tender for your 80-ft yacht out there).

The boat is sold withOUT a battery and the price reflects that.  There is a battery in there now but it is dead.  I do not want to get a new battery for it unless I am to use the boat because when it is feet dry on the trailer like this there is nothing keeping the batteries alive and they just go dead.  I have replaced many batteries already.  If we are testing the motor etc. we will just jump the existing battery with a car.

Trailer

Trailer's bearings were recently serviced.

To see the boat

This is kept at a lot in Redmond.  Please email me at sell@happyisgood.com.  The motor can be tested with a water hose hookup.
